Toda enfermedad requiere un término para ser nombrada, un nombre que afecte al cuerpo y lo redefina. El actual proyecto reposa en el concepto de una de las cuatro disposiciones de ánimo, que Hipócrates (400 A.C.) desarrolló como parte de su teoría de los humores que afectan al cuerpo humano; la Bilis Negra. Humor que se relaciona directamente con la melancolía, aquella que, atrapada en un pasado dudoso, soba y repasa las imágenes de “lo que fue”, una mirada que no mira más, sin embargo, desgasta. A partir de tal referencia, este proyecto de pintura, construye retratos y relatos, los cuales surgen de la reinterpretación e investigación de transfigurar el rostro y construir la historia del contenido de un archivo clínico perteneciente al Dr. Leyva, mi Padre.
Bilis Negra- humores XXXXIX
Dicho archivo consta del registro fotográfico de distintos pacientes, en su mayoría niños, los cuales presentan distintas enfermedades, así como alteraciones congénitas en sus rasgos.
El archivo me fue proporcionado, bajo dos condiciones: 1) No evidenciar al paciente mostrando su identidad y 2) No tener acceso al historial clínico de ninguno de los pacientes.

La búsqueda por hacer aprehensibles esos rostros e historias, me lleva a trabajar con la pintura, la cual se presenta como el medio perfecto para la apropiación y la transfiguración. Donde la transferencia, como proceso gráfico que apoya a la pintura, pasa la estructura de ese ser antes fotografiado, de lo que fue su alma, por decirlo de alguna manera, hacia un soporte. Dando la pauta para una nueva construcción, un nuevo rostro. Después, el óleo, los pigmentos y el aglutinante, dotan la carne necesaria para la existencia de nuevos seres, sosteniéndolos en el mundo de la materia, en una bidimensionalidad paciente, en espera de su relato y posible diagnóstico.
