LATINOU | Andrea Sotelo

Andrea Sotelo was born in Mexico City in 1992, where she grew up and studied Graphic Design at the Universidad Iberoamericana (2012-2017). She subsequently lived in Madrid from 2017-2019, where she completed a master's degree in artistic practice and experimental film at MasterLav, the Audiovisual Laboratory for Contemporary Creation and Practice. She currently works on multidisciplinary projects involving experimental animation, sculpture, and painting. She recently received the FONCA Young Creators scholarship 2023-2024 in the painting category. She exhibited at the Museo de Zapopan and was selected for the artist residency at the Proyecto T gallery in Mexico City, as well as for the Julio Castillo National Painting Biennial in Querétaro in 2022. She has participated in several group exhibitions in Mexico and Spain and has been selected for experimental film and animation festivals in Mexico, Spain, and the United States. She lives and works in Mexico City and Madrid.
