LATINOU | Enrique Minjares

Visual artist graduated from the National School of Plastic Arts at UNAM. He currently lives and works in Mexico City. In his work, he explores the production and perception of drawing and painting, as well as the interaction between the two techniques, seeking to engage the viewer in a subjective way to appropriate and integrate them into their personal history. He creates illustrations of human-caused natural disasters, crossing boundaries between fiction, reality, and the media narrative of contemporary history, based on themes that represent current events with harsh reality. His discourse is visceral and self-engaged, far removed from conceptual presumptions or following trends. His work has been exhibited in public and private institutions both in Mexico and abroad.
