Ethereal Venus 2, 2021. Modeled in epoxy resin and pigments. Dimensions vary.
Ham is from Venus, and chorizo is from Mars invites the spectator to witness an epic and one-of-a-kind fight. Dear audience, in this coliseum, Venus will fight to two out of three falls, with no time limit, facing off in a sarcastic theomachical battle in which each participant will be forced to recognize the ways in which they exercise power over others based on their gender, attacking (un)consciously from the sociopolitical caucus assigned to them.

Mars, 2021. Modeled in epoxy resin and pigments. Stone, bronze, and iron. 72 x 56 x 47 cm.
As a result of this confrontation, Rangel manages to redistribute vulnerability, highlighting the way in which gender operates as a kind of fantasy endowed with effects of truth. A regulative fiction in which no participant emerges victorious, but instead lives in the repetitive and incessant struggle to correctly activate the laughable models of sex-gender archetypes.
