Solo show: Said Dokins

Aurora, 2016. Paint. 136.5cm x 206 cm
He began his career as an artist within the Mexico City graffiti scene in the 1990s. Since then, he has begun to reflect on the ways in which alternative cultural practices relate to public space, especially graffiti as an inscription, transgression, linguistic gesture, and political enunciation.

Long live the clandestine peasant revolutionary forces. Sculpture. Engraved machete. Acrylic and paper
Dokins's interests focus on creating a new visual understanding of the environment through its textual elements. He formally, symbolically, and philosophically explores the potential of writing in public space, as well as the tensions between the social fabric of the city, politics, and architecture.
